Code of Conduct

All WiGFi events, community actions and discussions follow this code of conduct.

We in Games Finland and its actions are meant for everyone looking to improve diversity and inclusiveness within the Finnish games industry. We are committed to keeping our community safe for everyone and we have a zero-tolerance policy on harassment in all of its forms. This code of conduct covers all our events and community actions and discussions.

We are engaged in providing a friendly, safe and welcoming environment for all, regardless of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, age, financial situation, or body and functionality.

This code of conduct outlines our expectations for participant behaviour as well as the consequences for unacceptable behaviour. We invite all members, sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, media, partners, and other stakeholders to help us realise a safe and positive environment for everyone.

The aim is to make sure that the individuals working in or related to the We in Games Finland community are aware and committed to fighting against sexual and other forms of harassment and are aware of Finnish laws and regulations concerning these matters.

Expected behaviour

  • Show appropriate respect and courtesy to one another.
  • Be kind, considerate, respectful, and collaborative.
  • Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory, or harassing behaviour and speech.
  • Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants.
  • Alert WIGFI responsible if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.

Unacceptable behaviour

Unacceptable behaviours include: intimidating, harassing, abusive, discriminatory, derogatory or demeaning conduct by any attendees of WIGFI and related events.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexuality, ethnicity, age, financial situation, or body and functionality. Furthermore it also includes, deliberate intimidation, stalking or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of talks or other events; inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.

Physical, written, verbal or other abuse, intimidation, threats, annoyance, harassment, stalking, pushing, shoving or use of any physical force whatsoever against any person, which in any way creates a disturbance that is disruptive or dangerous or creates apprehension in a person.

Possession of any item that can be used as a weapon, which may cause danger to others if used in a certain manner.

Any boisterous, lewd or offensive behaviour or language, including but not limited to using sexually explicit or offensive language, materials or conduct, or any language, behaviour or content that contains profanity, obscene gestures, or racial, religious, gender, or ethnic slurs.

Assembling for the purpose of, or resulting in, disturbing the peace, or committing any unlawful act or engaging in any offensive behaviour.

Failure to obey any WIGFI’s mission, rules and regulations.

Consequences of unacceptable behaviour

Unacceptable behaviour at our events or in our community will not be tolerated whether by other attendees, members, media, speakers, volunteers, organizers, event staff, sponsors, or exhibitors.

Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in unacceptable behaviour, WIGFI may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the community’s actions without warning or refund.
