Welcome to the events page where you can find our coming and past events! We in Games Finland organizes all kinds of events from IGDA-pre parties to career workshops. If not mentioned in the event description, the event is open for everyone.

Organising an event with WiGFi

Want to organise an event with WiGFi or for WiGFi members? Let the board know at least two weeks in advance and provide the following details:

  • Event idea
  • Are you planning to have the event members only or open for everyone?
  • If the event needs tickets through Eventbrite
  • Where and when
  • The accessibility details for the event, guidelines here

For marketing we will need the event banner and event description. All events should follow our Code of Conduct.

The board is happy to help with any questions you might have! Contact the board, for example, by sending an email to info@weingames.fi or events@weingames.fi.

We in games Christmas party goes online this year! While we can’t see each other live, we can still have fun together. We want to invite you to our virtual Christmas party, including casual gaming, feelgood video watch party, greetings from the board, and a MEGA raffle with great prizes!

You can find the link to the event through the We in Games group on Facebook. If you don’t use Facebook, you can send an email to events [at] weingames.fi to receive a link to the event.

Women in Finland’s annual meeting will be held on Tuesday 9th June 2020 at Arcade5 and online. The meeting will start at 5 PM.

The agenda and info about getting into the board has been shared on WIGFi’s Facebook page and an invitation has been sent by email to members.

Women in Games Finland wants to welcome all you budding game artists and level designers to our very first portfolio workshop! The workshop is a members only event, and primarily targeted to students, unemployed and people who are switching careers and who are struggling to get a job.

With the help of this workshop you will learn about the following topics:

– What are some dos and don’ts
– How to manage your portfolio
– What tools do I have?

Welcome to a Women in Games Finland Breakfast at Supercell!

Women in Games Finland welcomes you to our Pre-IGDA drinks with EA Tracktwenty and EA Women’s Ultimate Team! This event is for you don’t know anyone attending to the IGDA gathering and don’t want to go alone, or just want to meet awesome people with similar interest in the games industry, join us!

We will meet at Memphis Kamppi starting from 16:30 and finishing at 19:00, and then will head for the IGDA event upstairs together.

EA Tracktwenty and EA Women’s Ultimate Team has kindly agreed to sponsor a few glasses of bubbly for us! The rest of the drinks and food is on you.

Welcome to the first Women in Games breakfast of the Fall season! We will gather at Futureplay on September 5th 8.30AM to 10:30AM for a casual breakfast, during which we’ll hear about the cornerstones of employee wellbeing at Futureplay, as well as a brief introduction to their games and culture.

We welcome any gender and identity, and everyone who finds WiG values of diversity important!

Join us on WigFi Family Picnic! On the agenda we have chilling, chatting, playing park games, making giant bubbles, you name it! Both people with kids and without are warmly welcome. We will gather at the park behind Kansallismuseo museum, next to the terrace of the cafeteria.

We recommend bringing a picnic blanket, park games and the food and drinks you want to have. Please note that in order to create a safe environment for everyone, this event is alcohol free.
